BIOGRAPHY
Masahiko SAKAMOTO is born in Oume-city / Tokyo.
Since 1986 he is hornist at the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra for 37years, and since 2008 he is active also as conductor. He studied Horn at the Tokyo University of the Arts with Prof.Kozo MORIYAMA and Prof.Kaoru CHIBA, Chambermusic with Prof.Yuji MURAI and Prof.Masatake KAIHOKO.
He started conducting affected by Prof.Yuji YUASA / Wien.
He participated already many masterclasses for conducting, such as with Jorma PANULA (2012, Naantali), Giuseppe LANZETTA (2013, Florence), Ed SPANJAARD (2015 Budapest), also workshops with Mr.Toshihiko MATSUNUMA, Mr.Tatsuya SHIMONO and Mr.Toshifumi TASHIRO.
Presently he is hornist for Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, in parallel conductor for Glanz, an ensemble for strings, and many amateur orchestras in Tokyo. Based on he's passion to learn conducting.
He is an audit research student at the Ueno Gakuen University from 2015 to 2016.
